Siren Alarm

  • Question: Does the siren stay audible after it is triggered until someone turns it off?

Answer:

YoLink Siren Alarm will automatically silence the alarm according to the Alarm Duration setting via YoLink app, the default setting is 30 seconds.
And other ways to turn off the Siren Alarm are as below.
1, Press the SET button on the Siren Alarm.
2, Click Disable button in YoLink App.
3, Press the associated OFF button on the optional YoLink Remote (sold separately).

 

  • Question: How to link the alarm with water leak sensors?

Answer:

There are three ways to link YoLink Water Leak Sensor with YoLink Siren Alarm.

  1. Smart Automation – you can create IF “YoLink Water Leak Sensor leak warning” then “YoLink Siren Alarm triggers”. Please kindly refer to the following video for how to set up Automation in YoLink app. Please note, this function requires the Hub and the internet.
  2. Alarm Strategy – the new version of YoLink App has added the Siren Alarm as one of the methods of the Alarm Strategy. You can set the “Alarm Strategy” for your sensors to trigger the siren alarm. Please kindly refer to the following video for How to set up Alarm Strategy in the YoLink app. Please note, this function requires the Hub and the internet.
  3. YoLink Control – which works even without the Hub and the internet
    • First, choose YoLink Water Leak Sensor as the controller. Hold the SET button for 5-10 seconds, the device will enter the pairing mode;
    • Second, choose a Siren Alarm as the responder. Hold the SET button for 5-10 seconds, the light will flash green quickly;
    • Third, after pairing is successful, the light will stop flashing;
    • Forth, when the controller alerts, the Siren Alarm will alarm with sound and light as well. Please refer to YoLink Control Guide.

 

  • Question: How to pair door sensors to Siren Alarm?

Answer:

There are three ways to link YoLink Door Sensor with YoLink Siren Alarm.

  1. Smart Automation – you can create IF “YoLink Door Sensor door is opened” then “YoLink Siren Alarm triggers”. Please kindly refer to the following video for how to set up Automation in YoLink app. Please note, this function requires the Hub and the internet.
  2. Alarm Strategy – You can set the “Alarm Strategy” for your sensors to trigger the siren alarm.Please kindly refer to the following video for How to set up Alarm Strategy in YoLink app.
  3. YoLink Control – which works even without the Hub and the internet Please watch for the guide.

 

  • Question: Is there a way to have a door sensor trigger the siren when a door is left open for x amount of time? Also, can the door closing shut off the siren?

Answer:

You can set “Open Reminder” for your YoLink Door Sensor at first, then you can create automation between the YoLink Door Sensor and YoLink Siren Alarm when the door keeps open.
And you can set an automation “Door Close” to trigger the Siren Alarm to turn off.

 

  • Question: How do I get a notification alert on my phone when the siren alarm is triggered?

Answer:

First, when the siren alarm is triggered, the YoLink app will not send notifications. But it will change the status in YoLink app.

Second, the Siren Alarm is used for YoLink device-assisted alerts based on YoLink Control settings or automation settings.
For example, when the door is opened, the siren alarm will be triggered to alarm. In additional to the audio alarm from the YoLink Siren Alarm, you will receive notifications from the door sensor.

 

  • Question: I am having trouble getting your siren to operate whenever the motion detector reports movement.

Answer:

There are two ways to link YoLink Motion Sensor with YoLink Siren Alarm.

  1. Smart Automation – you can create IF “YoLink Motion Sensor – Alert” then “YoLink Siren Alarm- Trigger”. Please kindly refer to the following video for how to set up Automation in YoLink app. Please note, this function requires the Hub and the internet.
  2. Alarm Strategy – You can set the “Alarm Strategy” for your sensors to trigger the siren alarm.Please kindly refer to the following video for How to set up Alarm Strategy in YoLink app. Please kindly note this function requires the Hub and the internet.

 

  • Question: Can I connect the temperature sensor with siren?

Answer:

There are two ways to link YoLink Temperature & Humidity Sensor with YoLink Siren Alarm.

  1. Smart Automation – you can set up Smart Automation between your sensor and siren alarm. Please kindly refer to the following video for how to set up Automation in YoLink app. Please kindly note this function requires the Hub and the internet.
  2. Alarm Strategy – You can set the “Alarm Strategy” for your sensors to trigger the siren alarm.Please kindly refer to the following video for How to set up Alarm Strategy in YoLink app. Please kindly note this function requires the Hub and the internet.

 

  • Question: Can I adjust the volume of the alarm?

Answer:

There are three levels of sound, you can adjust it by sliding the sound level switch to the desired level on the Siren Alarm.

 

  • Question: Can I pair multiple water leak sensors to one Siren Alarm?

Answer:

Yes, a YoLink Siren Alarm supports up to 128 YoLink devices in total.

 

  • Question: Can I create an event to turn on/off the siren with Alexa and/or Google mini?

Answer:

After connecting YoLink Siren Alarm with Alexa or Google, you can use Alexa or Google Assistant to alarm or disable alarm with voice commands.

 

  • Question: Will this siren not run on batteries? Seems like it killed my batteries really fast just sitting in the storage.

Answer:

YoLink Siren Alarm is powered by DC 5V/1A. And you can purchase and add 2-AA Batteries for emergency power backup.
Two new AA batteries can support about 4-5 days of standby time.
We suggest powering the Siren Alarm by the supplied power adapter, and use the batteries for backup use.

 

  • Question: Can you plug in the siren alarm with the batteries inside?

Answer:

Yes, the Siren Alarm can plug in with the batteries inside. But please kindly note the YoLink Siren Alarm is powered by DC 5V/1A.
You can purchase and add 2-AA Alkaline Batteries for emergency power backup.
Two new AA batteries can support about 4-5 days of standby time.
Do not mix old and new batteries!

 

  • Question: I want to be able to set this to if out then sound the alarm. How do I set that up? 

Answer:

If you want to trigger the smart automation when you are out, you can set up the smart automation like – when the “Door Sensor – Door Close” then “Siren Alarm – Trigger” and set the duration time “When” for the smart automation.

 

  • Question: How do I set up the Siren Alarm?

  • Question: How many dB is this alarm?

Answer:

YoLink Siren Alarm emits a very loud sound and the sound can reach up to 110 dB.

 

  • Question: Is there a way to have your siren unit programmable such that only the LEDs operate and turn off the sound portion?

Answer:

Sorry, the sound of the Siren Alarm cannot be turned off.
The Siren Alarm is used for YoLink device-assisted alerts, it works with YoLink Sensors to send audio alarms.
If you do not want to trigger it all the time, you can set the duration time in smart automation or set the Do Not Disturb in alarm strategy.

 

  • Question: Does your siren have a physical relay connection for an external sensor? If so, how many sensors can be linked and do you have sensors that can detect contact closure?

Answer:

Our Siren Alarm doesn’t have a physical relay connection for external sensor.

There is no limit of number of sensors that can be linked to the Siren Alarm. We will release contact sensors at the end of this year.

 

  • Question: The siren goes off when the plug turns on. 

Answer:

When the plug is turned on, the Siren Alarm will be powered up and will emit a HI-LO tone. This means that the Siren Alarm is powered on.
